Robert L. Treft, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified ophthalmologist who enjoys general ophthalmology with specialized certifications in LASIK, PRK and lens replacement refractive surgery, no-stitch and multifocal lens replacement cataract surgery, advanced glaucoma surgery along with other micro-surgical and laser eye surgeries.

Dr. Treft opened his own private practice in Layton, Utah on the campus of Davis Hospital and Medical Center in 1985, which later became the Mountain View Eye Center.

Dr. Treft attended the University of Utah School of Medicine where he graduated with high honors and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his specialty training in ophthalmology at the prestigious University of Utah. Dr. Treft opened his own private practice in Layton, Utah on the campus of DavisHospital and Medical Center in 1985, which later became the Mountain View Eye Center.

Dr. Treft is very excited about the new developments in refractive surgery. He has had the great opportunity of helping so many people improve their vision with this advanced technology. He was one of the first physicians certified in Utah to use the FDA approved Excimer lasers to correct vision problems with LASIK and PRK. He even had LASIK himself, performed by Lamont Ericson, M.D. That experience has given him a unique understanding of the patient's perspective.

Dr. Treft is an active member in the local community, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Utah Medical Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He continues to serve as a ClinicalAssistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. He is the past President and remains an active member of the Utah Ophthalmological Society, the Davis County Medical Society and the Davis Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Treft has completed several ophthalmology medical missions to the islands of Tonga. He continues to look for humanitarian opportunities to train ophthalmologists and perform surgical procedures around the world. Dr. Treft is a native of Davis County where he and his wife enjoyed raising their 5 children and playing with their grandchildren. He is fluent in German and enjoys learning phrases in many languages. He loves helping people see the world more clearly.
