Jared Peterson, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and is the newest addition to Mountain View Eye Center. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, which is perennially ranked among the top 3 ophthalmology programs in the country.

Dr. Peterson completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Wills Eye Hospital, perennially ranked among the top 3 ophthalmology programs in the country.

A native of Layton, Utah, Dr. Peterson received his Bachelor's Degree from Weber State University, graduating with High Honors. He continued his training at the Ohio State University College of Medicine where he graduated with honors and received multiple academic and research awards. While at Ohio State, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society for his academic achievements. He was also nominated and selected by his peers for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his humanistic and caring approach toward his patients. Dr. Peterson participated in various ophthalmological research projects and was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha and Fight For Sight national research fellowships.

Dr. Peterson next completed his internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where senior residents and staff presented him with the Best Transitional Resident of the Year award.

Dr. Peterson was honored to receive his training in ophthalmology from Wills Eye Hospital, which is a high volume referral center where he was able to see many rare diagnoses and received extensive experience in managing ocular trauma. He was also exposed to the most recent technological advances in the field, and was one of the first residents in the country to be trained in using the femtosecond laser in cataract surgery.

Dr. Peterson truly loves what he does. He especially enjoys the relationships he gets to establish with his patients. Above all else, Dr. Peterson is a devoted husband and father and in his spare time loves being with his wife, Barbara, and their five children.
